Food Shopping: When to Buy OrganicThe new and luxurious Metropolitan at Village at Leesburg is convenient to everything, including the high-end Wegman’s Food Market.  If you cook regularly, I don’t need to tell you how nice it is to have a grocery store right around the corner in the event that you forget an ingredient or two.

Speaking of grocery stores, the topic of whether to buy organic or conventional foods often comes up in conversation these days.  Many of us are trying to watch our budgets, and it’s no secret that the organic food option can sometimes be twice the price of the conventional version.  For some foods, it’s okay not to splurge on the organic version as they don’t absorb much of the pesticides used or are peeled before eating.  However, TLC put together a recommended list of foods of where the organic version should be chosen if possible:

  1. Meat
  2. Dairy Products
  3. Eggs
  4. Coffee
  5. Peaches
  6. Potatoes
  7. Peppers
  8. Leafy Greens
  9. Baby Food
  10. Tomatoes
