The refrigerator is often the center of life in our apartments in Leesburg, VA. Whether housing a cold drink, late-night ice cream, or dinner party fixings, your refrigerator also directly affects your food’s flavor. Unaddressed food remnants can spoil many items.

Keep your refrigerator clean with these tips.
But how can anyone keep a clean fridge in our apartments in Leesburg, VA, given your busy life?
Start by preventing spills and other rank odor sources. Store liquids and semi-liquids in securely lidded, non-tipping containers. These both prevent spillage, and the entry of mold and bacteria. Your disposable lunch meat container box would do.
Anything that drips needs a plate or tray underneath it.
If you do spill, swift response will prevent problems later. Wipe up with paper towels, and follow up with a dilute unscented bleach solution. If you have an aversion to bleach, try white vinegar, and baking soda. In general, choose unscented products, because it is so cumbersome to rinse these off and they can add tastes too.
There old reliable open box of baking soda DOES work. Change it, however, several times a year and use the old product for scouring.
